Josh Harris “dug down deep”

A few years ago I was in Minneapolis at a Pastors Conference and I saw Josh Harris walk into the same session I was in. I was pumped and excited to talk to him because I have read his books and in my mind he was a Christian Celebrity. I made my way across the room to where he was so I could shake his hand and tell him how much I appreciated his work. I stepped up and held out my hand and said hello. Josh lit up, he was excited to talk to me. He didnt say one word about himself or his books. He asked me what I did for a living. He asked me where I was from. He asked me what my future goals were. He took a sincere interest in me and I walked away feeling like a celebrity.

I am currently reading his book “Dug Down Deep” and you should too. If you ever get the chance to meet Josh do it. You will walk away feeling like a rock star.

I wonder why the story of Hophni and Phineas the sons of Eli didnt make it into the Childrens Bible that I am reading?

Hophni and Phineas had no respect for the house of God and used their position as sons of a Priest to their own advantage. They used the temple like it was their private steakhouse and slept with women they ought not have slept with. Tisk tisk tisk. The Lord was not intrigued.
